It’s amazing how much a win of some kind can improve your moral. Maybe its a PR, maybe its losing more weight than you expected that week, it could even be someone noticing the changes in your body/life and mentioning it. The important thing is to ride the emotional wave that creates for as long as possible.
There is nothing wrong with feeling good about our accomplishments. Just like we shouldn’t feel guilty for being down when things don’t go as good. It really sucks to go out for a 10 mile run and have to turn back at mile 3 because you feel like crap and you know it just isn’t going to happen or you feel the start of an injury. You don’t have to pretend that doesn’t bother you, but at the same time you can’t let the hard times set you back. Push on and see if you can fix the issue for next time. After you have ran for a while it is common to end up feeling stuck. Maybe you have done 20 5ks and never broke 21 or even 30 minutes or maybe you have been trying to get to where you can just run 3.1 miles without walking. This is a common complaint from runners. The big plateau! You hit was seems like your ceiling and there doesn’t seem to be anything you can do to go to the next level.

Well the next step is getting closer. The website is in the works…as you can clearly see. When it is finished there will be a list of times and places for group runs, maps for places to run, a page for info about running gear, upcoming races (events) and hopefully a lot more interesting stuff.
Run Richmond first became a dream of mine less than two weeks ago so I am very excited about the momentum being built. I have had numerous conversations with local businesses and leaders that want to find ways to partner with Run Richmond.
