Tough Mudder Contest Update and other bits of info…

Tough Mudder

I know I have been talking about this contest to win free registrations to join the Run Richmond Tough Mudder Team for a while. We are getting really close at this point. I promise! We are stalling because we have decided to include our sponsors from the Water To Wine 5K Vineyard Run in the fun for the contest. The great part is that our sponsors are excited about the contest. The bad part is we keep getting more sponsors and each time we do we have to finalize more details before we can move on to the contest. My goal is to finalize the sponsors that will be included in the contest this week. If that can happen early in the week then we will have the contest this week. If not until the end of the week the contest will be next week.

Since you have been so patient with us (I assume you have been patient) I want to share some reasons for you to join us for some of our events:

Water to Wine glassWe had a great meeting after our Run Richmond Group Run on Saturday about the Water To Wine race. We talked medals, awards, party and all sorts of stuff that will get you excited about the event (it’s more that a race).  After the meeting we went and bought some wine glasses and started doing some etching. These will be for age group winners, but the rest of you don’t be stressed…I think everyone will be really excited about the stuff they get to take home. Believe me if you like leather products you will be impressed with the finisher medals and the other prizes that age group finishers will get.

HH medal optionsSpeaking of medals we have been working on some prototypes of the medals for the 2nd Annual Historic Haunt 5k/10K that will be October 7th this year. Not saying the final medal will look like one of these, but I am pretty happy with a couple of these.

Last year we had nearly 300 runners on the paved trails around White Hall State Historic Site. This year I would like to see at least 400 or maybe even 500. If the medals themselves aren’t enough to convince you then check out these pics that David Turpin took on part of the course Saturday during our group run. These are awesome pictures that show what an amazing place White Hall is to run.

A lot of people have probably given up reading by now. If you are still with me I have a cool opportunity for you. At least I think it’s cool. Run Richmond is making a video. Not a rap video that will have Trent and I walking around with guns trying to seem cool. Not a country music video where we carry on about losing our girl and then find some new bikini wearing girl that likes trucks or tractors. But a promo video about the Water To Wine 5K. We have Steve from 3Gins Media shooting a video with us at Chenault Vineyards at 5:00 this Friday, the 14th. We need some help. We need runners and walkers. A promo video about a race isn’t going to be very good without runners/walkers. So come to Chenault Vineyards on Friday and you can get a sneak peak of the course while helping us show people that Run Richmond knows how to put on a running event.

Just so you know Chenault Vineyards is a pet free facility. So as much as we love running with our dogs…not this time. Hope to see you all Friday.
