Run Richmond is still just getting started as an organization. I have been extremely excited and encouraged by the support you guys have shown so far. We have had 3 group runs so far and at least 6 people have been at each. I have talked to numerous people about future plans for Run Richmond and each time I get positive feed back and offers to help out.
I don’t know what exactly Run Richmond will eventually grow into, but I do know that what it is now is the beginning of real community. Runners and walkers are great people. I want to learn more from those ahead of me on this journey and to use Run Richmond as an opportunity to pour into others that are looking to use movement as a way to get healthy.
For now though, I just want to celebrate the fact that Run Richmond is off to a great start. This week we made it over 100 Likes on Facebook, John’s Run Walk has an article about the beginning of Run Richmond on their website, and I have a meeting in the works with another local organization that can help Run Richmond reach phase 2 of the big picture. I hope I can share that with more of you soon, but for now lets just celebrate what has happened so far.
I don’t know about you, but I like free stuff. Especially free running stuff. I talked with our friends over at Soft Shoe and told them about what has been happening with Run Richmond and they offered to partner with me in giving away a pair of premium running socks to one of Run Richmond’s followers. These are high end water wicking Swiftwick running socks. Retail these are $15-$20 per pair so if you are too cheap to spring for the good stuff (like me) then here is your chance.
To be entered in the drawing for this pair of socks all you have to do is be one of the people that like the Facebook page and then share the link to this article on Facebook. I will have this linked on the Facebook page and you just need to click the share button before Monday, November 16th at 7:00pm. At that time, I will draw the winner at random from those people and the winner’s name will be given to Soft Shoe so they can go pick out their new running socks.
Thank you again for your support of Run Richmond and good luck.
